I wrote a very long post, but my browser gave me an error, so lets try this again!

I have written about the election on my blog. Lately, I've been more quiet on the election. In the last week, I have realized that getting worked up about the election is fruitless. Why get angry over something I can't control?

Coming from someone who gets heated about all of this, I can give you one word as to why Christians and conservatives are so angered by it all: FEAR. Personally, I am afraid of what Obama could do. I'm afraid of what he hasn't told us. I'm fearful of how the world is going to break down. But its really silly because if I trust that God protects those He loves, then I should not be fearful of what man can do to me. You can kill this body, but you can't separate me from Christ! And its hard sometimes to remember all of that.

If we take our focus off of what God wants us to do, in the here and now, to the people we touch each day and the service He wants us to do, what good are we? If we just care about what Palin is wearing and what Obama said about her outfit...and we spend all our hours focusing on these petty things...what good is it? Our focus should be on reaching those around us with the truth. Everyday I worry a little more about the economy and I see the church at large caving in to society norms and I wonder how anyone will ever be reached by Jesus? It's such a daunting thing to think about. The church isn't doing what it is supposed too. Instead, its focusing on itself...how can they gain wealth, prosperity, fame, and all of that. In the meantime, people are dying without coming to Christ. People are suffering and nobody cares.

I have prayerfully put aside my election talk and blogging and am asking God "where do you want me? Use me today". Your thoughts on this matter are right on. Thank you for sharing.
